About GenPay
Who is GenPay built for?
GenPay is built for small businesses and merchants such as farmers market sellers, food vendors, pop-up operators, and small retail shops that need practical in-person checkout tools.
Is this a consumer wallet app?
No. GenPay is a merchant-facing payment app focused on POS, checkout, products, customers, and operational workflows.
Does GenPay support multiple countries?
Yes, GenPay can work with merchants using Stripe in multiple Stripe-supported countries. Actual availability depends on the connected Stripe account country and the Stripe features that account can use. Reader hardware, Tap to Pay, Terminal deployments, and payout timing stay region-specific, so international availability is not identical across all countries.
Does GenPay support multiple currencies?
Yes. GenPay can support multiple currencies through your Stripe account, but the currencies you can present or settle depend on your Stripe account country, enabled payment methods, and payout setup. GenPay does not publish a fixed universal currency list because Stripe support varies by account and region.
Checkout and POS
Does GenPay support customer self-checkout?
Yes. GenPay supports QR checkout, customer scan-and-pay flows, and kiosk-style experiences for self-service selling.
Can I use GenPay in kiosk mode?
Yes. On supported Android deployments, kiosk mode supports customer-facing checkout. Admin exit follows this sequence: unpin in Android, fully restart the app, then use Setup Step 2 to disable kiosk mode.
Does Checkout include discount fields?
Checkout is optimized for cart totals, tax, and tip presentation. Discount adjustments and other advanced charge edits are handled in Payments workspace flows.
Can I generate QR codes for checkout?
Yes. GenPay can generate Stripe-hosted checkout URLs and QR codes so customers can pay on their own devices.
Catalog and Products
Can I assign multiple categories to a product?
Yes. Product forms support comma-separated categories, and Checkout can filter products by those categories.
Can I upload product images from my phone?
Yes. Merchants can upload product photos from the phone and include them in their product catalog.
Can I edit or archive products after creating them?
Yes. Products can be edited in-app, including image replacement/clearing, and can be archived or restored as inventory changes.
Can I use products in both staff checkout and customer checkout?
Yes. The catalog is intended to support merchant-led checkout and customer-led itemized checkout flows.
Customers and Billing
Can I edit or delete customer records?
Yes. Customer records can be edited from the Customers workspace, and deletion requires a confirmation step.
How do I handle invoices and subscriptions for a customer?
Use the customer actions in the Customers workspace to create subscriptions, create invoices, and open unpaid invoice payment links.
Hardware and Permissions
Why does GenPay use Bluetooth?
Bluetooth is used to connect supported card readers and related checkout hardware.
Why does GenPay request location access?
Location is used for supported reader discovery and location-aware hardware workflows, not for advertising. Android shows the built-in permission prompt when this access is needed.
How does biometric app lock work?
On supported Android setups, GenPay supports swipe-up to unlock, then uses the device biometric prompt for verification and optional idle auto-lock behavior. Biometric verification is handled by the operating system.
Google Play and Support
Where can I find the privacy policy and support information?
Use the public GenPay privacy, contact, hardware, and account deletion pages linked from this site and from the app support surface.
How do I request account deletion?
Use the Delete My Account flow in the app when available and the public account deletion request page for merchant data deletion support.
